Emergency: If you experience chest pain, severe shortness of breath, a prolonged painful erection (over 4 hours), or sudden vision/hearing loss — call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room immediately.
Who Should Not Use Genital Herpes Treatment (Valacyclovir)
- Known allergy to valacyclovir or acyclovir
- Severe renal impairment without dose adjustment
Warnings & Precautions
Transmission Risk
Valacyclovir reduces but does not eliminate transmission risk. Use condoms and avoid sexual contact during outbreaks.

Disclosing your status to sexual partners is important for their health and yours.
Suppressive Therapy
Daily suppressive therapy significantly reduces outbreak frequency and reduces asymptomatic viral shedding.
