Important Safety Information
PT-141 (bremelanotide) is a melanocortin receptor agonist injection used to support sexual desire/arousal in men and women. It requires a valid prescription and provider evaluation, particularly of cardiovascular status, prior to use.
Emergency: If you experience chest pain, severe shortness of breath, a prolonged painful erection (over 4 hours), or sudden vision/hearing loss — call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room immediately.
Blood Pressure & Heart Rate
Bremelanotide can cause a temporary rise in blood pressure and may slow heart rate. Watch for severe headache, blurred vision, or pounding in the ears after dosing.
Cardiovascular Risk
Avoid use with uncontrolled high blood pressure or known heart disease; discuss cardiovascular history with your provider before starting.
Skin/Gum Darkening
Focal darkening of the skin, gums, face, or breasts can occur, more often with repeated use, and may not fully resolve.
Liver Effects
Rare cases of acute hepatitis/liver injury have been reported. Seek care for dark urine, yellowing skin/eyes, or right-upper abdominal pain.
Breastfeeding
Safety data during breastfeeding are limited; discuss with your provider.
