Zepbound KwikPen (Tirzepatide)
Prescription MedicationZepbound KwikPen delivers tirzepatide, an FDA-approved dual GIP/GLP-1 receptor agonist for chronic weight management. Administered as a once-weekly subcutaneous injection via auto-injector pen, it requires a valid prescription and regular clinical monitoring.
Emergency: If you experience chest pain, severe shortness of breath, a prolonged painful erection (over 4 hours), or sudden vision/hearing loss — call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room immediately.
Who Should Not Use Zepbound KwikPen (Tirzepatide)
- Patients with personal or family history of MTC or MEN 2
- Known hypersensitivity to tirzepatide or any excipient
- Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals
- Patients with diabetic ketoacidosis
Warnings & Precautions
Thyroid C-Cell Risk
Tirzepatide has shown dose-dependent thyroid C-cell tumors in animal studies. Contraindicated in patients with personal or family history of MTC or MEN 2.
Pancreatitis
Acute pancreatitis has been reported. Discontinue and seek immediate care if persistent severe abdominal pain occurs, with or without vomiting.
Hypoglycemia with Concomitant Therapy
Risk of hypoglycemia is increased when used with insulin or sulfonylureas. Dose reduction of the concomitant agent may be required.
Gastrointestinal Adverse Events
GI events are the most common reason for discontinuation. Begin at the lowest dose and escalate slowly per your provider's guidance.

Drug Interactions
Always inform your provider of all medications, supplements, and substances you are currently taking.
- Insulin — dose reduction may be needed to reduce hypoglycemia risk
- Oral contraceptives and other oral medications affected by delayed gastric emptying
- Other GLP-1 agonists — do not combine
When to Contact Your Provider
- Severe or persistent abdominal pain suggesting pancreatitis
- Symptoms of hypoglycemia if on concurrent insulin therapy
- Signs of thyroid tumor: neck lump, difficulty swallowing, persistent hoarseness
- Acute gallbladder disease symptoms: right upper abdominal pain, nausea, fever
